Reading the Bible

You can read without creating an account. The iPhone app includes the Bible for offline reading and search. Reading position, text size, and saved verses remain on your device; these are separate from your account’s study notes.

Your Study account

Creating an account provides your first name, last name, email address, and password. We store your name, email, account identifier, and a password hash to provide sign-in and show your name. Your private chapter notes are stored with your account so you can return to them on different devices.

Service providers and notifications

The website and account service use OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare hosting and database services. Google Workspace sends an administrative signup notification containing your name and email to the site administrator. Passwords and study notes are not included in that notification.

Online Bible text and audio

We request ESV text from Crossway through our server using the selected passage reference. ESV audio streams directly from Crossway’s audio service, and KJV audio streams directly from AudioTreasure. Loading or playing recordings connects your device to the audio provider, which receives the requested recording and normal connection information such as your IP address and browser information. KJV audio may begin loading when you open Listen. We do not send your Scripture account details or private study notes to these Bible-content providers.

Cookies and technical information

Study uses an essential session cookie to keep you signed in. The service also processes IP addresses, browser or device information, and request logs to run and secure the website. Session records may include your IP address and browser information. Scripture does not include advertising trackers or use your notes for advertising.

Retention and account deletion

Your profile and saved notes remain until you delete your account. Open My account in Study, choose Delete account, and confirm with your password. This removes your account, sessions, saved notes, and signup-notification records from the application database. Deletion applies to both the app and website. Reading without an account remains available.

Administrative email copies already delivered through Google Workspace and service-provider backups or security logs may remain separately. Contact us about removal of administrative email records or other privacy requests. Deleting an account does not remove saved verses stored only on an iPhone; removing the app clears its local reading data.

Your choices

You can edit or erase a chapter note in Study, sign out, or delete your account. No advertising or cross-app tracking consent is requested. Please avoid putting sensitive information about other people into your notes.
